Meet Lori Sly

Hello! I’m so glad you stopped by the Destinate Group Blog. I’m Lori Sly, founder of Destinate Group.
I have lived in 4 provinces and spent a great deal of time experiencing all but one (I’ll get to you as soon as I can, Newfoundland!).
As a business owner, mother and pilot’s wife, my hope is to be a part of rebuilding tourism in Canada and to inspire you to explore our incredible country. My family of five live in Grimsby, Ontario. I am an avid traveller, ideator and musician. I love sneaking home to the family lake house in Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan, where I spend most summer days.
I have 16 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, executive management, marketing, and business development. Prior to starting Destinate Group, I was the Vice President of Business Development and Service Quality at the Saskatoon Airport, Director of Business Development for Western Ag, and the Director of Communications at the Regina Airport. Before all this, I earned by BComm and MBA from the Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan. (And yes, I planted over a 1/2 million trees to help pay for my first degree!)
My bucket is filled by helping our not-for-profit tourism clients obtain government funding; since the pandemic, I helped our clients access over $17 million of much needed funding. And, much to my delight, this number continues to grow! From multi-million-dollar grant programs to simple tactics for small destinations, I ensure that all projects are achieve results and make a difference.
Our team of consultants share a love and commitment to Canadian tourism and travel and are based across Western Canada and Ontario.
