Steve Nicol

Steve Nicol graduated from UBC with MBA and BA degrees and is registered as a Certified Management Consultant with the Canadian Association of Management Consultants. He has conducted more than 120 tourism consulting assignments covering destination development plans, strategic plans, marketing studies, economic studies, business plans and feasibility analyses since 1986.
He has managed tourism development plans for communities and regions, employing best and leading-edge practices in product, destination, industry, market, labour market and visitor services development. His business planning and feasibility practice has focused on nature-based tourism, hospitality and destination attractions, while his economics practice includes the quantification of impacts arising from major development projects such as mines and hydro facilities, land and resource management plans, marine plans, parks and protected areas and investments in sports and recreation infrastructure.
Based in Vancouver, Steve is a long-time facilitator for Destination BC’s destination development programs. He has worked across Canada and internationally and has worked extensively with Indigenous communities on tourism and economic development planning.
